A day after that closure, the governor issued an executive order requiring all enclosed shopping malls to close down and they have remained closed since.Ī few weeks after I uploaded my photos online I got a comment on my Instagram account from a user known as queen85326 asking about where the Disney Store is located at Arundel Mills. The day after I went to that mall Arundel Mills decided to close down entirely. I shared them on my various social media accounts and I wrote a blog post about it. I took photos and a video showing how eerie that mall had become. ![]() When I arrived in that mall I found that it was mostly empty because the Maryland Live! casino and the movie theater were ordered closed by the governor a few days earlier plus there was a ban on in-person dining and a majority of the stores had decided to close. After training ended for the day I decided to go to Arundel Mills because the office was located just three miles away from that mall and I hadn’t stepped foot inside that mall in years. I went to the Census Bureau’s field office in Hanover, Maryland. Patrick’s Day I had gone to what turned out to be a severely curtailed training session of my day job with the Census Bureau due to the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic. ![]()
